I love this movie. Its been a “go to” for me many times. Casually racist “of royal blood. though dusky shade”. Great movie. thanks. Cita en St. Louis Full movie reviews.

1:09 - 1:24 That coach of the St. Louis Rams, his name is Mike Martz!  Mike is widely vaunted for his strong offensive smarts. Really enjoyed this movie! To think that it was all about the importance of baptism and how women really are the ones in charge no matter what men think, made it even better! LOL. I never understood all the movies on her life saying she was not a pretty girl and all she had was her voice. This is one BEAUTIFUL Woman. Am I missing something.

Watching a vincente Minnelli film was like looking at one of the world's great paintings full of great colours and great composition. ANYBODY who thinks that film is not art should see this as well as minellis other films as well as the works of John Ford and Michael WOULD DEFINITELY CHANGE THEIR MIND. Judy garland and Margaret obrien where a great pair of performers. And they and Joan Carroll and Mary astor are the stand outs in that great cast. Don't miss this great film. From Michael from Yorkshire and proud of it.

Great movie and William Powell showed is acting ability by playing this rigid man. I believe that this is more or less the original release trailer, with just the opening and closing titles changed for re-release, which probably took place some time in the early 1950's. MMISTL was a huge hit and top grosser in its initial release, so it was likely on a regular reissue schedule, as were many of the hit films of the era. St. Louis was better then than now. 2:25 this is why I thought Judy was prettier than Liz Taylor.

One kid makes violent threats and the other has dolls that die left and right, good golly

How can you dislike a film starring such talented, sophisticated and lovely actors as William Powell and Irene Dunne. Nostalgia for Old time America. Cita en st. louis full movie full movie. It is hard to believe Judy tried to dump the project when the people at MGM bought "Kensington Stories" believing it to have potential as a new Judy Garland musical vehicle. Wanting to prove herself capable outside the child roles which had made her so famous, it had been a long time before she began to get the first of the adult roles she wanted. "For Me and My Gal" the film which also marked the movie debut of Gene Kelly is the most memorable of the first of her adult roles. Even her Mother, who Judy saw as the 'real wicked witch of the west' backed her up in trying to get out of the musical commitment.
Thank goodness Judy played Esther. It is a role that seems to be tailor made for her, because she plays it so perfectly. It was a role that eventually became one of her favourites.
Alongside her, a great supporting cast shines. Veterans Leon Ames and Mary Astor, as Esther's parents, and others, including Margaret O'Brien, Lucille Bremer and Tom Drake, relative newcomers, whose work in this film will be remembered. Margaret O'Brien is great as Tootie, however annoying she may look in pigtails. Lucille Bremer, as Rose is one of the best performers of the movie, but unfortunately, at a studio like MGM already overflowing with Hollywood's top stars, she did not receive as much attention to her talents, and probably did not become as famous as she may have.

The songs are completely addictive. I got myself a copy of the soundtrack last year. Along with an excellent score, songs include "The Boy Next Door" the title track, and the song Judy immortalised forever "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" a heartbreaking rendition of reassurance. Somehow, the film makes the old classic children oriented song "Skip to My Lou" seem refreshed. The highlight was the current hit of the moment, The Trolley Song. On a 200 000 set of the St. Louis street on which the trolley runs, it is there that Judy performs one of the gems of her great career.

An outtake from the film was "Girls and Boys Like You and Me. It originally came from the Rodgers and Hammerstein debut "Oklahoma! and was tried in a couple of other MGM musicals including the Frank Sinatra vehicle "Take Me Out to the Ball Game. All ended up on the cutting room floor, until it was somehow turned into a ballad by Rodgers and Hammerstein for their television adapted version of "Cinderella.
The story of middle class life in St. Louis becomes a little slight. But with the screenplay fitting, all is adequate. This is Vincente Minnelli's masterpiece, even more enjoyable than "American in Paris" and especially better than "Gigi.
But the musical, a real family treat, is more than just another "Christmas" film. It cannot be expected to live up to the same season feel as "It's a Wonderful Life" but that's in part due to the fact the movie follows a whole year. Unforgettable things occur at Halloween too, which could very well eclipse Christmas time.
But in technicolour splendour and an unforgettable drawing power charisma, Meet me in St. Louis" deservedly remains one of the best musicals of its decade.
Rating: 8/10.

Elizabeth Taylor, in spite of her beauty, was fabulous in her scene on the porch, such deepth and emotion in her eyes. 🤦🏼‍♀️My family (DAD) is so old fashioned that Marys argument makes perfect sense to me! 🤷‍♀️ id never have been allowed to write (let alone GULP CALL) first! 🙆🏼‍♀️ Geez no wonder im so goofy! 🥴💋.

Cita en St. Louis full movie. Very nice... I live in this actually about Garland?Singing about for me atleast. When Louis came home to the flat, He hung up his coat and his hat, He gazed all around, but no wifey he found, So he said where can Flossie be at? A note on the table he spied, He read it just once, then he cried. It ran, Louis dear, it's too slow for for me hear, So I think I will go for a ride. Chorus Meet me in St. Louis, Louis, Meet me at the fair, Don't tell me the lights are shining Any place but there; We will dance the Hoochee Koochee, I will be your tootsie wootsie, If you will meet in St. Louis, Louis, Meet me at the fair. Verse two Chorus Meet me in St. Louis, Louis, Meet me at the fair, Don't tell me the lights are shining Any place but there; We will dance the Hoochee Koochee, I will be your tootsie wootsie, If you will meet in St. Louis, Louis, Meet me at the fair.

Cita en St. Louis Full. At about :51 in this trailer (Tom Drake's screen credit) one can see what is probably the only remaining shot from the sequence set at the fairgrounds (after The Trolley Song, and which originally concluded the summer portion of the film) in which Judy sang Boys and Girls Like You and Me, the Rodgers and Hammerstein song salvaged from Oklahoma! and purchased expressly for inclusion in MMISTL by producer Arthur Freed. (Oklahoma! which opened in 1943, was currently the biggest hit on Broadway, so the acquisition of an unused R&H song from the show was quite a coup.) The scene is lit very low, as it takes place at dusk. One of the World's Fair pavilions is visible behind Mr. Drake, and he is of course costumed as he was in the preceding scene on the trolley. The scene was shot and fully realized, but was removed from the film I think fairly late in production (i.e., after previews) as it was felt to slow down the action. The footage for the scene was among the casualties of the disastrous 1967 fire in MGM's vault no. 7 in Culver City.

William Powell and Irene Dunne my absolute 2 favorite actors from the 1st half of the 20th Century! They should have made many more movies together. St Louis Blues. I love this song! So sweet! I hope this happens to me once public transportation in Houston improves 😍😍😍. Thank you! Thank you. These priceless classics from 'Hollywood's Golden Era' truly are the best.

Roses are red Johns name is Truett Esthers in love And we* always knew it! everybody on the trolley, not just Esthers little sisters. Imagine being that beautiful and talented wow. Amo esa película es un clásico me encanta al igual que lo que el viento se llevo y dirty dancing. Old movies where character and morals still mean something. 1930-1950's Hollywood movies are fantastic! Love this channel, thank you for the download.

For some reason, when I saw Judy Garland in some shoots she resembles Pearl Pureheart, Mighty Mouse's girlfriend.
